Can I install a Level 2 charger on a 100A service?
Possibly. The answer depends on the calculated demand, existing electric loads, charger setting and available equipment options. A load review identifies whether a lower charging current, approved energy-management system or service upgrade is appropriate for your property.
Does an EV charger installation require an ESA permit?
Yes. ESA states that EV charger installations require an electrical notification before work starts. Electrical Standard coordinates the required notification and inspection as part of the agreed installation scope.
What photos help with an EV charger quote?
Send clear photos of the closed panel and visible service labels, charger label, proposed mounting location and route between them. Include an approximate distance and whether the garage is attached or detached. Never remove a panel cover to take a photo.
